Profile picture & rules

I am wanting to put a confederate flag on my profile (NOT FOR RACISM, I AM NOT RACIST) but because it is part of history that dates back in my family and also because today the flag is often used to represent southern pride even though it has a bad name elsewhere. Also another reason why I want to have it up is because the flag is under attack and is being banned from sales and taken down from flag poles in areas.

Anyways I am not sure if this will break the rules or if it falls under

"3. No religious, nationality, or political expression in your profile."

Any idea?
"political expression"
I am not against it in anyway, and anyone who is to me is just being a tiny bit of a bitch, however due to that interpretation I would say no. Due to the fact the confederates(?) used it to show their "political" ideology, so sadly I would say you can't.

Although I guess it's up to how the mods will see it.

Yea the political expression part is why I am holding back from adding it because I am not sure on whether it falls under that rule.

😧 It is confusing, I mean it kinda is a political symbol in some areas of the states, but as a general thing that's no different than using my flag as we (NZ) were going to change it, if I were to use the one our governing party "backed" by technicality of my understanding that would be a political expression.

Eh, maybe this reply didn't help in anyway. Personally I'd say go for it, but you could get fucked for doing so.

It's not allowed. I asked about this a few years back and it was deemed against the rules.

I'm pretty sure a case could be made that it could violate either or both of the "nationality" and "political" restrictions. My guess would be no.

just put something less offensive like a swastika or something
