hi there
it's been a while I have this question that how UI Frameworks like OSSkin VisualStyler works !
the question is how it works ?, it only needs to import the skin to form and it turns into it's skins unlike the gdi , how it skins the forms and controls ? is it changes inheritances or definitions of controls or what ?
any idea would be appreciate.

From the site you posted:
Quote:Do you need your applications to have a professional appearance without investing in a 3rd party GUI framework?
And then you see:

Professional appearance? Really? Maybe 10 years ago.
And when you go to the purchase page and see the prices: L O L
I've seen free-open-source themes on HackForums that literally outperforms that 'Professional' skins.
And How it works?
Probably it store the controls BackColor, ForeColor and other properties in XML or custom format file and when it renders that control to Form, instead using "hardcoded" values, use the "file" values.

Okay. How they do it is like we do it; You put what you want the "skin" or theme to do in the sub new inheriting and changing the parent has sees' fit. The majority of most gdi designers and developers including me(I can't speak for everyone) don't do this is because I think the people here want the option to control over what they want the theme to do in the first place.
Now that I said a super secret gdi developer technic(not really); You can't be running around thinking your a hot dank meme poster just becuz you learned the ultimate 360 no-scope trix.

do you think they use form designer to set things up ?
ok, check it out, http://pastebin.com/search?q=c%23+theme that is a bunch of themes for your .net apps, that's how they do it. (add the class, start the form, then stop it. once you have started and stopped the program with the class, most of the time it will show up in your toolbox window)
if you have a question about the code part of any of the classes feel free to ask.
