Windows 10 Reset Remove ALL Viruses 100% ?

Hi,

As the title says, if I have an infected file such as a game hack on my computer, will using the Windows 10 reset remove the infection?

I've been doing this for a few months when I feel like something isn't right and I do feel like its safe, however it just occurred to me today that Windows 10 reset usually only cleans stuff on the C: drive, so if I have opened the file on my gaming drive (E:) would the reset still kill it?

Also, when I reset I choose "keep my personal files but uninstall my apps" - Is that one okay or should I be doing a complete wipe? From what I understand, the option I usually choose is fine since it uninstalls all programs that didn't ship with my PC.
Might not. Just format both drives to be safe. Good luck.

Thank you for the reply, Japanese.
Format both drives as in the windows 10 reset? I didn't see the option to format my E: drive, I'm only able to reset windows 10 on the C: drive.

Factory resetting will do the trick, just don't forget to back up your important files on a USB...

Then after get malwarebytes and scan to see if it's gone

Resetting/wiping/formatting should only be used as a last resort. You can post a thread here and get a checkup from a whitehat and they will assist you in cleaning your computer.
It really depends on what kind of malware you're infected with. If you're infected with a worm, file infector, etc. then a reset won't help much. You'll need to do a real nuke and pave.
Fiat justitia ruat cælum

My era of providing technical support and malware removal on HackForums is over, so you can stop PM'ing me about it. Sorry.

As aura simply put it depends which type... Depending on the infection. Some Viruses/Malware can inject themselves into legit windows files. Therefor during your "Reset" that file will not be removed and will continue to stay infected.

Formatting the drive will work best if you're wanting to be sure.
