I'm pretty sure it's allowed. I've seen plenty of users resolve bad reps like this.

So you are allowed to ask the person who rep'd to remove their rep if say for example, you remove your rep?

Yes you are.

Pretty sure you would have to give a reason of why they should remove it but yes. How else would there be a way to resolve it?

Asking somebody else to change or remove their POSITIVE on somebody elses profile would be considered gang rep.
If you would ask the person to remove his NEGATIVE on somebody elses profile, then it's perfectly valid.

You can ask people to remove their neg but you can't ask people to neg.

You can also ask somebody to change their negative rep to either a positive or a neutral one, although you can not ask for the positive one.

I understand completely, thanks for clarifying this for me :D

Well you can actually not remove a reputation, you can just change it.
This might be considered rep for rep, but I'm not entirely sure.
Asking someone to change a neg/neutral is not against the rules.

I interpreted OP as meaning to PM someone and saying "hey, if I change my rep, will you change yours?"

I believe that asking someone to change a +1 to a +3 might also be against the rules.

If your asking to sort something out with a member such as a -3 and resolve the problem i see nothing wrong with that personally.

Ye thanks. I would just love to speak to a member who rep'd me for a reason I don't know what he was talking about. He said I didn't like an actress or something when in fact I've never spoken about the actress nor ever remember speaking to him. Just wondering why he neg rep'd me -3 for this. Just made the thread to check if I'm within the rules hahaha :P
I didn't like the way you reponded to someone that day.
