Looking at it now. Lot of US servers like I'd like, however with a company like this theres always logs. :/

I was also concerned about it. But found out they are based in Hong Kong, and unlike U.S they don't have any mandatory data retention laws. Plus they also claim that they keep zero logs. So I think we are pretty much safe, and with the performance it has shown to me, I won't let the logs make the decision.

I personally prefer Private Internet Access. They are cheap if you buy a year ($3.33/month), are the fastest from my experience, have lots of options (which also includes the android app, which I need at my school to bypass VPN blocks since they block the most common ports and most VPN apps don't allow you to configure this) and also include a SOCKS5 proxy + you can have 5 connections at a time.
They also allow you to pay via bitcoin and have been proven to have no logs which is why their Russian servers were raided by police (which gave them no user information). I put several TB of data through PIA every month since I also have my router connected to it.

Only issue that I have had is setting up the proxy on my android (the VPN still works), but I think that was just user error on my part.

Well brother, You just explained pureVPN in detail, I'm already enjoying all these features and in a lesser price of $2.45/M for 2 years. All the streaming sites also work flawlessly. Plus PureVPN has extra security plugins as well.
Pure has much more to offer in my experience.
Coupon Code: DISCOUNT15 gives an additional 15% off.

Oh my! I have already made the purchase. 😭
But this, this is even better. Thanks man! 👍

The thing is though that PureVPN is slower than PIA. I did some reading on forums and people get much slower speeds with PureVPN, which does not surprise me since I have tried lots of VPNs and PIA is the only one that has negligible impact on my internet speed.
It also just makes sense from a technical standpoint since PureVPN cover more countries (
141) and only ~500 servers, PIA has 22 countries and 3274 servers. You do the math.

A VPN connection is generally slow because of all the added security, protocols and encryption carried out on end-to-end basis.
And yes maybe you are right with the server thing. But as far as my connection is concerned I haven't faced any major impacts on speed. Even if one does face any impact, there are some tweaks for that to be resolved.
If you have any concern over logging, you'll avoid PIA.

No, if you have a quality VPN then it should have zero effect. The only thing it should add is a higher ping, you should suffer no speed loss. If you are, then switch to a different VPN because the one your using isn't providing enough bandwidth for it's users.

I've always recommended AirVPN for normal users, or Cryptostorm if you want the absolute best privacy.

I agree. I was talking about the users who do face any speed drops. As far as I'm concerned, I've had no issues with PureVPN so far.
I'd love to try the VPNs you have mentioned but there is no reason really for me to switch. Pure works just as great as I hoped. ✌
Hmm I might think about getting a VPN now. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if I use my school wifi/ethernet, will they find out?

Not necessarily, even if they do, they won't know who it is using a VPN. I've many friends who use VPN in their colleges to get rid of all the stupid blocks. 🤝
