Basic guide to growing your youtube channel! [Tutorial]

Recently saw a YouTube guide being sold on how to grow your channel...
I am guessing it just consists of the basics you can simply google, but of-course they'd like to finesse anyone for some money.
Please take the time to read each part of this tutorial as I go into depth of how the algorithm of Youtube works.

Here are some basic editing packs that I use for some of my videos.

My experience on Youtube
Since 2011, I always dreamed about being a Youtuber, I was inspired by a whole bunch of funny and cool Youtubers that were very popular during that time. My favorite thing was to make people laugh, and I did so by just generally having fun. After a few years, I made some awesome friends who just happened to also want to do Youtube for a career. We pursued this dream of ours and worked as hard as we can to make it happen. Over time, I've met and played with Youtubers you might know yourself. I was able to collaborate with some friends that have "made it" in the Youtube community that have well over 1 million+ Subscribers. I currently have 8,000 subscribers as I just started last year. I could've had more but I was very busy with school which caused my channel to fall off abit. However, I have slowly been reviving my channel and I am starting to bring up my ratings and working on my content to guarantee some kind of entertainment for my subs. Don't give up if you find your channel stuck at a certain spot. Just work around that, You'll get passed it guaranteed.

The Algorithm on Youtube

The algorithm on Youtube has changed quite drastically over the couple years I have been on. The way a video can grow on Youtube and allow it to be seen by viewers is depending on how long your video has been watched. It doesn't matter if you upload 20+ minutes of gameplay, It's based on how long your viewers watch all 20 minutes of it. The more they watch the more people see it in their recommended videos. This means you MUST provide some kind of entertainment that will draw your viewers to watch ATLEAST 50% of your video to allow your video to be recommended to people that are watching the same kind of content you are producing.

Quality Content
One of the most important things to have for your channel is quality. You need to make sure your videos are good quality. Not only in entertainment but also in the thumbnails and video quality. When it comes to thumbnails, You need to be unique and creative. Sure, you can use a template of a thumbnail to use, but it's saturated and won't allow your channel/video to standout. You will simply need to learn how to use photoshop (or any other program to create thumbnails). You can watch some tutorials on how to make thumbnails.
When it comes to videos, You will need to spend a few payments on equipment. Such as cameras and game capture devices. These will cost a pretty hefty price, however will benefit you in the long run.

Collaborations
If you have a few friends that are also involved in the Youtube community, Take advantage of that and record with each other. If you are comfortable with them and you think you are more entertaining when with that friend, then do it! The more you collaborate aswell, allows viewers from their channel to recognise you and allows your channel to get more traffic.
More traffic = More views = More Watch Time = More Traffic
It's a repeating process that just makes your channel grow quickly.

Tags
Here is the big problem when it comes to videos, Sure you can put a whole bunch of tags that don't relate to your video whatsoever, or even clickbait. This will however bring negative attention to your channel that can result in strikes. I will get into strikes later, but you would like to avoid these as they are dangerous for your channel.
When tagging a video, Make sure it relates to your video and ALSO make sure they are something a viewer would type to search for that particular content.
For example: ( I want to watch NFL Football Highlights)
What you would put in the tags are -
"NFL Football Highlights" "Football Highlights" "NFL Highlights" etc..

The more tags that are related, The more viewers it should rack in.

The Bandwagon
I myself do this, and it works fine. When there is hype over a certain event, Try to create a video about it. Let's say a new game is coming out and you get early access. People who don't have access to this game will be searching for gameplay to see how it is. You would want to pump out a few videos to try to get as much views and traffic as possible from it. Once that trend/event dies, move onto the next trending topic and repeat.
