I was rotating skypes like i do every... 2 months or so to flush old contacts and other stuff.
I looked up how to not get the new username method again and decided to try the older skype and see how that goes.
Why did they make skype so boring?

The only thing is it looks a little cluttered and the buttons are kinda old.
Still going to use the latest skype. But, I like it.

I prefer the newer one just above that, Less laggy. Hate the current skype ui and don't really use it anymore.

I never used that version.. looks wicked. I was expecting like the circa 2011 skype UI and didn't even know this existed.
The old skype UI was so simple and easy to use, not that the newer one isnt, just liked the older UI better too.

There are so many things on my screen so it's annoying.
Almost every program like Skype moves to simplicity.
You're just drowning in nostalgia.

Although this one has a feel that feels easy to use and very customizable. I also get that feeling that if I used this for a month or so, all the buttons I'd need are is muscle memory.

On the newer Skypes you can block the ads using the hosts file:
