Yup, you might know this already but google maps have been tracking you. I can say this with proof though. Check what they have on you!

How to disable it?
To check if your location history is enabled go to the google maps location history page and click the gear-icon for your settings. Disable or enable the service there. If you disable the feature please note that this will not delete your current history.
To do that you'll need to activate the pull down menu which is below the calendar on the left. Below the calendar you will see options to delete your history from the time period you have chosen or to delete all of your history.
It's okay. I want google to stalk me plenty.
EDIT: This is different for a computer. To delete your history from a PC you'll need to click the trash bin icon in the lower right corner, the settings can be seen there as-well. The gear icon.
It's kinda obv, it knows your location when you search to bring you the best options near you
I have my phone with me whenever I got to school or work or do groceries.
When I go out on a murder spree I leave it at home.
This way, if I ever become a suspect, the police can look at my phone and see that I was home that night.

well just wait a second before disabling it
google maps tracks you for traffic data
so when you are driving, google maps tracks how fast your car is going in order to know if there is a traffic jam somewhere
so if your car is moving slow it will compare data with other cars and assume there is a traffic jam there
and you can look online on google maps to see where traffic jams are located in a city
this function is really useful for a lot of people especially in big city's so I would keep it on

I am pretty sure not only you location is being tracked, there are some apps like FB that are constantly listening to your conversations.
