My first short horror film [IN PROGRESS]

I'm currently working on a small film project, to broadcast my ideas and share them with people. I've had no experience in directing, but everybody I've showed my script too have been dragged in and are anxious to see what happens next. I've written a couple of movie ideas, but this is the first script I've actually completed.

I may need some assistance. I have no idea on how to direct the film, I'm guessing it's not just getting actors and a camera. What other things do I need? Thanks. I'd love to have completed filming and editing within a month, to share with you guys. Trust me, it's scary 🤝.

That should help you mate, wish you the best of luck and hope to see it go viral.

As you will see on the above link I posted, The main steps are -

Writing the script
Storyboarding(basically comic strips of where people are in scenes/closeups)
Getting money from props/cameras/actors if they aren't free.
Look through multiple people for each role, don't just settle.
Select locations in your area for shots and angles like mountains/lakes
Plan and set times - if you don't need some actors on those days just let them do something else.
Practice their scripts before shots.
Explain to actors in each scene how their character should be feeling emotionally and how it looks on camera.
Don't be afraid to give exact instructions.
Practice camera angles and shoot for different shots.
Rehearse the shot without the camera rolling
Review it with the actors to see what you can do better each shot.
Sort music for different scenes and possibly let the actors know so they can get into role.

Remember it mainly comes down to how it's edited on the computer after so take a few of each scene then darken it and dramatize it through the editor.

Simply taking some B grade film, and making the shot darker - adding some slight sound/music or just increasing the sound track so it's louder and changing brightness in certain areas can make a huge difference.

Watch something like pulp fiction and watch how many angles they get during 1 scene. For 2 sentence conversations it can go close up on face, to ground to shoulder view to wall.
If you know someone with a drone, consider getting them involved for a good roll around view of the area you are filming for dramatic effect.
