I have tinnitus in my right ear, which is caused by glue ear and I'm pretty medical-phobic so the thought of having my third operation of my life to treat my glue ear distresses me. As you can imagine, the thought of having tinnitus in my left ear too would be horrendous. Every night, I would feel sickened inside thinking "how can I have tinnitus in both ears?!" Although I would always wonder why I could never hear it in the day.
Eventually, I realised that after disconnecting my phone from my phone charger, the actual charger emits a high-pitched ringing noise and made me think that I had tinnitus. It was a scary year and a half before I realised what was going on.
