Sometimes I want to see what ad banners HF currently displays to unupgraded members so I can get an idea of the unupgraded user experience. Can we have please the option to turn on and off the display of ad banners to us (upgraded members)?

Can always log out, see what ads are there.
But this could be useful I guess. I am sure the advertisers there would love it if Upgraded members saw their ads too - On Optional condition of course.
(I dun wanna look at those all the time)

I don't see the benefit of this so I don't think it will be added. But like Armada said, you can always just logout to see the ads.

You could also view ads by opening HF in incognito mode without logging in.

The benefit of knowing what a potential buyer sees is that you can plan and design your ads in a better way. Make them more appealing/less annoying.
