Staff Award/Compulsory to wear the Staff UB

An award that is given to current/ex Staff members? They should deserve something to show off for all the work they do here within the community.

Second reason being "Eagle 95" having the Torque userbar set & can be confusing/misleading towards newer members. I just saw his name recently and I had thought he retired.

Opinions are welcomed, any annoying comments will be ignored, just give me your personal reason why you think this should/shouldn't be implemented.

Thanks for taking the time to read.
I guess it'd be a great addition but do ask yourself.. do we need this?
I don't really think there should be an award but instead think that if the 'Staff' userbar was required to be worn at all times this would pretty much answer both your questions.

As for Ex-Staff, I'm pretty sure I've seen some with random awards thanking them for all they have done, just not specific 'Ex-Staff' awards.
I don't think there's a need for an award. Omniscient has a way of thanking us already, to both ex and current staff.

If you see my name (or any name that isn't using staff usergroup as default) on showteam.php, it means they are still on staff, plus staff usergroup is shown in Additional Usergroups. I don't see how it can be misleading. I usually do this when I'm scanning forums and/or doing reports.
Staff member 10th Jan 2017 - 30th May 2020.
HF Administrator 30th May 2020 - 14th July 2022.

It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.

Peace out!
Let me quote something that explains the reason behind there not being an award for staff/mentors:

If you would get this you'd realize this is your time to shine and show Omniscient that you could be a good staff someday. This should be just a group to help out imho i think no perks should be Given. Maybe like a orange user-title instead of blue but like idk. I think nothing should be given. This will show the true people that will give give give and not take take take. If you show that you a great mentor and show that your working your ass of in the job omni gave you. Proving him that for a consistency can result in him considering you might be a good staff member. This once again could be great if we ruled out the people that want it for the attributes and the people who really want to help out hack forums

This post was made in a thread suggesting mentors should get an award. Omni gave this guy a gold medal award for making this post, and it applies to staff as well. Those who are worthy of being staff don't need an award because they are doing it for the community - to "give give give and not take take take". You should want to do it to help hackforums, not to get some award.

It would be cool, but I don't think it'll ever happen, and for a reasonable reason.

Also award suggestions aren't allowed.

Yeah I can agree, good reasoning, thank you for your input. I do believe the Staff userbar should be compulsory to wear if you're staff though.

Most new members have no clue where to find the forum team, but I can agree.

I should of worded it better, I was more leaning towards the fact that it should be compulsory to wear the userbar.

Thanks for that quote though, I agree 100%
Not needed what so ever, you can easily check who is a staff here. And when it comes to Eagle, he wears the staff-userbar more often than his usergroup-userbar.

Yeah, OP... I don't think there really is a need for any of this. I'm sure it came across Omniscient's mind before, but there just isn't a need.

Saying there's no need of this isn't really an explanation.

Can you list why so I can gain your thoughts and agree with you?

Well, there's a nice little link on the footer that says, "Staff"..

And I personally don't think it should be compulsory. Kinda like obligating someone to wear a star just because they're..well yeh, you get it.

Eagle wouldn't have to wear the Torque userbar if we got a torque award to solve the problem ^^
Eagle 95 is not the only staff member who changes his UB every now and then, I would say that about 70% of the current and ex staff members used to do it
Can I suggest a new award?
No. Awards are created by the admins only at their discretion. Suggestion for new awards are ignored. Do not PM staff or create a suggestion thread for new awards.

Its a good idea, I will support it but I highly doubt that it will happen. Also, all staff/ex staff are also listed in the wiki here http://hackforumswiki.net/index.php/Category:Staff

Current staff (as you already know about this) is here https://hackforums.net/showstaff.php

Anyway, Good luck. You have my support! Have a nice day buddy 🤝

I won't add a Staff award. Staff are not required to display the Staff group image as default.

Click "Staff" in footer. New members need to learn a lot, we don't just offer them a mind-meld when they join and they magically know everything.
