kali linux mac address spoofing [question]

Hey guys so I am trying to spoof my mac address [for educational purposes to see if it is possible] and after following the simple tut here --> http://www.hackingtutorials.org/general-...acchanger/
and basically I can change the mac address after typing ifconfig wlan0 down but after typing ifconfig wlan0 up the internet doesn't come back up and I can't do anything over the wifi with my spoofed mac address. I have to manually restart it (by clicking wifi off and then on in the upper right hand corner) and by that point the mac address reverts back to its original mac address. Maybe you can't spoof your mac address anymore? Anybody know? Thank you 🤝

Network Manager overrides manual mac change...must use spoofed mac in Network Manager

I figured it out, I downloaded trity and then did the spoof mac option (after typing 'ifconfig wlan1 down') and then typed 'ifconfig wlan1 up' followed by 'service network-manager restart' and viola! You Now have a spoofed MAC address while you can still use the internet [trity download link]--> Trity Downlod Page!
try macchanger wlan0 -r (i think r was for random) its built in in kali though

macchanger would spoof it but then I wouldn't be able to use the internet but as I said above, Trity + typing service network-manager restart fixed that issue 🤝
Network driver didn't actually change to the new MAC!!

i get that after typing macchanger -r

NO, you can access internet while changing your @MAC using macchanger.

Here is the manually steps (without macchanger):
