Virtual Lab on external harddrive

[b]You guys,[\b]

I have some idea and wanted to ask you guys if you think it is a good idea :)
So the idea is to use a high speed external harddrive (over usb-3.1 thunderbolt 3) and put all my VM's on that harddrive.

When I have virtualbox installed on a linux and windows system I can just swap the harddrive and in theory it should just work fine.

Have someone here experience with this setup??

Already thanks for the answers,

MackyNous 🤝
Can you share product link of the hard drive?

It should work fairly well, but know that if you accidently remove the USB jack you could risk corruption.

Lulz forgot to think about that......

thanks m8
It will work 100% fine. But you ALWAYS have to eject usb from windows and on linux use "sync" so everything is written to the device to avoid corruption.

The only thing you have to do, is click "import" and not "new".
If it asks, just click "copied"
Fuck bitches, then we die.

You always make mistakes, especially if the USB connector is not being held in strong enough, I wouldn't put too critical information on that.

You could always back up your VM files in another spot.
