I thought about getting a notebook for the times I can't use my PC, for example on vacation or when visiting someone.
Do you know any cheap notebooks that you can recommend? I would buy used ones too as my budget is limited.
I'm looking to spend not more than $100.
For only $100 I wouldn't expect much from a laptop/notebook. If all your going to be using it for is browsing, communicating, a chromebook would probably be a nice choice. Generally they run Chromium OS, but you can put windows/linux on them easily. They are cheap, and work well. You might want to expand your budget slightly though.

That's all I'm going to use it for, browsing and not really more. I'm going to have a look at chromebooks, thank you! 🤝

If you do end up deciding on a Chromebook, post here with what your getting, and I wouldn't recommend putting Windows on a Chromebook if you intend to.

No, I was opting for a Linux actually. While looking for chromebooks I found a nice Lenovo notebook, probably going to get that one. It's the Lenovo 100S, doesn't cost much and seems really good for the price.

Just keep in mind with that laptop, you will not have that full 32GB of storage to use, Windows will likely occupy a decent amount of it, so if you plan on storing things on there you'll need to buy an SD card or use an external hard drive.
Look for ChromeBooks, they are kinda cheap.
Another HF oldfag..

Yes I know, I still have a 500GB external laying around so that won't be a problem. Do you think I can put Linux on it without much trouble?

Without much trouble, I can't guarentee that 😝 although you can definitely get it working, it shouldn't be too hard. By the looks of it the easiest way would be to find a distro which supports a 32-bit EFI bootloader as the BIOS is pretty limited as to what can be changed.

Okay, thank you very much!
