Anyone else remember AQWorlds and Neopets?
Shit, I remember AQ like it's yesterday. I'd hop on with friends and just grind to bosses. My character was a healer so I'd just stand back, heal, collect XP, and move on. It was great.
The game got fucking huge. They had thousands upon thousands on at a time, they released action figures and cards to Toys R US...then shortly after they fell apart.
Meaning, the game virtually died. Everyone hopped off. Funny though, the game is still going with regular updates. But it's sad because I was around when it was huge and had active guest actors, musicians, etc. It was pretty fucking bad ass back in the day.
I also remember Gaia online, got bored of it quick.
Neopets was the shit. Soup kitchen saved lives. Now my childhood pets are dying.
There was this card game called Chaotic that had codes that you could enter online and play there. The game died because the game itself was confusing and could never compete with games like Magic. Sad too, the idea of having a code on the bottom that would let you use your irl cards online was a great idea.
