Generally Gold Farmers tend to not be forthcoming when it comes to information about botting as it almost directly affects their bottom line, that being said people will post the same questions on this section every week and many times get incorrect or partially incorrect answers from people.
While I am not offering direct help when it comes to setting up a gold farm, I will answer a few questions that people will commonly ask as best I can. I am fairly experienced with this topic and have personally farmed close to 7B OSGP from December 2016 to the present.

FAQ:
Note: All information is based on OSRS, I don't deal with RS3 whatsoever.

Q: What are the things I need to goldfarm? How much will it cost to be successful?
A: Being a successful goldfarmer can be extremely difficult, especially to begin with. You will need several things before you can begin and knowledge of game mechanics and methods.
This includes:

• Subscription to a Botting Client [$8-$10]
  


• Multiple unflagged Proxies [$1-$3 Each]
  


• Unsaturated profitable method
  


• VPS/Dedicated Servers if you are running beyond your hardware's capabilities [$10-$100s]
  


• RuneScape membership via Bonds (Currently 2.8M Each) [$2.80 PER Account]
  


• Private or Premium Scripts [$10-$100s]
  

This does not include everything you will need, but these are the major components.

Q: Will injection clients get me banned automatically?
A: Absolutely not. While there are benefits to using the official OSRS Client as your game client using Looking Glass/Mirror Mode, this is not a requirement and you will not be banned for simply using an injection based client. When using an injection based client, your game will appear the same as a person using OSBuddy which generally has over 30K active users.

Q: Is X client safe to bot on my main?
A: As a general rule, do not bot ANY account you do not want banned. While premium and private scripts will greatly reduce the risk of ban, there is ALWAYS a chance you will be banned. The only way to avoid being banned is simply not to bot.

Q: Can I use free scripts?
A: If you want to be banned, sure.

Q: If I spend $300 on a private script, does that mean I won't be banned? Can I run 24 hours a day?
A: Just because you are using a private script does not mean you won't be banned. While it does reduce the risk of being banned, there is always a chance, especially if running too long on a daily basis.

Q: I just want to start a small farm to make gold on the side, can I?
A: By all means you can, but in my opinion it is not worth it. Generally to overtake the cost of the premium scripts, proxies, subscription, and membership you will need to start fairly large. I do not mean that you must start at 50 accounts, but running 3 accounts 2-3 hours a day will get you no where fast.

Q: Why not bot F2P? No membership costs!
A: F2P is HIGHLY regulated by Jagex and in general not worth the time unless you can run an automated farm that runs hundreds of accounts.

Q: Will my main get banned if I bot on the same IP?
A: Generally accounts on the same IP will not get banned if they were not botted, but sometimes they will depending on the number of accounts botting on a single IP. It is really a coin toss so I would not recommend botting on the same IP as an account that you do not wish to get banned. Along with this, if you bot several accounts on the same IP you are likely to get chainbanned, meaning all accounts on the IP will be banned at the same instant.

I would say 8-10 accounts would be a good starting point, really depends on what you can personally handle. I do not recommend suicide botting as generally you don't get enough profit out of the account before they are banned unless you know specifically what you are doing. While I can't really say how many hours I personally bot, 8-12 hours a day is around the amount depending on different conditions.

I use only privately written scripts at the current time. If using premium scripts, I would say they would cost around $20-$30 a month give or take.

This would fall under trade secrets. No one will divulge what they are botting. Methods can only handle so many people doing them before profits are affected. One of the biggest hurdles you must pass is finding a method that is profitable.

Only P2P botting. F2P is HIGHLY regulated and not worth it unless you have a completely automated farm of hundreds of accounts.

You can start 6 accounts, P2P in RS3. Get a bond for each of them, and do Cursed Wisp. Selling the Cursed Energies in GE for 400gp - 420gp each.

I haven't botted RS3 since before EOC, only have experience with OSRS. Most of the content I posted will most likely apply to RS3 as well though.

I highly doubt you made anywhere near 28 billion in a month and a half. I still haven't seen what you claim to be "misinformation". Only that you like to stroke your own ego. If you have criticism, feel free to express it in an actual constructive manner.

I have found a method for myself, but do you really need VPS's? I have an old pc lying about that could easily handle 10-20 bots running. Can i not just boot that up with proxies and then get going?

I will obviously need a strictly private script done as well, which will handle it with or without muling.
