Hello guys. This is my first tutorial on famous backdoor Back Orifice. So please don't flame me. 😊

First we can have a little introduction.

What is a Backdoor and Rootkit:

A backdoor in a computer system (or cryptosystem or algorithm) is a method of bypassing normal authentication, securing remote access to a computer, obtaining access to plaintext, and so on, while attempting to remain undetected. The backdoor may take the form of an installed program (e.g., Back Orifice), or could be a modification to an existing program or hardware device. (Wikipedia)

A rootkit is a software or hardware device designed to gain administrator-level control over a computer system without being detected. Although rootkits can serve a variety of ends, they gained notoriety as malware, appropriating computing resources without the knowledge of the administrators or users of affected systems. What is Back Orifice:

Back Orifice 2000 (often shortened to BO2k) is a computer program designed for remote system administration. It enables a user to control a computer running the Microsoft Windows operating system from a remote location. It was designed by cDc team to remotely administer the machines but due to its stealth action and ability to perform malicious tasks like keylogging. That's why it is now tagged as backdoor/rootkit by antivirus companies.

So Lets get started

First download bo2k toolkit from any one of these links:-

Setting up the Server Part:

1. First extract the files in a folder.

2. Here you can see bo2kcfg.exe. Open this. (This will be used to configure our server)

3. Now Click on Open Server and select bo2k.exe. Then click ok.

4. Now in Plugins Loaded Tab click on Insert and load Plugin dlls viz. auth_null.dll, enc_null.dll, io_tcp.dll and all the dlls from srv folder.

5.After that now go to Options Variables tab, expand startup and enter the value of port in Init Cmd Bind Str string ( It is the port on which server listens).

6.After that click on save server and close the window.

7.Thats it. Now our server is fully configured and is present in the parent folder.
