I don't really like animes but I loved Samuri Champloo. The whole setting of the japanese countryside, and the time that its set in really intrigued me. Unfortunately, there is only one season so I am looking for anything similar to it, thanks!

If the story setting is what you liked, I'd recommend Shigurui. Be warned though, it's not for the faint of heart.

It's not the same setting, but if you like Champloo, Cowboy Bebop is a necessary watch.
