the xcopy in my batch file is not copying the special chars correctly. The Š is turned into a è. There are other funny chars that are changed as well.

This is the command in the batch file:
dir "\\USATL02ERAS40\auditfiles\Loblaws\LCL_2016\Z-DT\NDS 2016\LCL SUPPLIED 2016\*.xls*" /A /B /S > XLSVndDir1.tx

This is the file name:

How do I get the correct name with the special chars?

I found your question somewhere else online, and I'm gonna say the same thing as one of the guys on that post. You are using the dir command, not xcopy...

thanks.....and as I said on the other forum...I meant dir not xcopy, but you already knew this because you read it.

Try running the command without the redirect and see what you get. When I run it without redirect, I see the proper output in the console. Output to text document removes the accent symbol for me but keeps it the same otherwise. Once you figure out why the letter is changing, then you can work on the accent mark.
