Still have it in my wallet just in case I get questioned. Good thing to have :)
People pull my card on it all the time, I pull it out my wallet for proof and pull they hoe card. After that they dip.
It is very strange to see someone who is not black say the word "nigga".
But I don't think it should be considered derogatory, unless the context itself would imply a negative intent, or it is spoken in a deriding tone.
I personally would never say the word, but if I was part of that subculture where the word "Nigga" is thrown around, I would probably be saying it too, I don't think those people have ill intent.

There are actually two versions of the word the first of which is the racist version which is spelled with two g's and an er at the end. The second spelling of the word is the one which you guys have mentioned in this thread. The latter use of the word is apparently a substitute for friend. But I've also seen people using this version of the word when talking about people who they aren't friends with so it can get a little confusing.
I'm from Florida and I can go to the hood in my city and say "nigga" all day long. It used to sound cool when I say it but now I think my voice sounds too "white" to use the word because it doesn't sound like a nigga no more.
