Google Chrome freezes after Win 10 Creators Update

Hi,

I finally updated my system to the latest version of Windows, which is the Creators Edition (version 1703, build 15063.296). My problem is that Google Chrome is acting really weird after the update. It has never been like this and I really love Google Chrome, so it's confusing me a lot.

Whenever I open any page (even settings or extensions), my browser freezes. If I try to reload the page, it just hangs there and the page "ball" keeps spinning around. If I close my browser, I cannot re-open it until I force quit all "chrome.exe" processes from Task Manager, and then wait around 5-10 minutes. It still hangs and freezes when I re-open the browser, so the only solution to fix this problem is when I reboot my system. Sometimes it gets fixed and I can use Chrome for hours without any problems, and sometimes the same problem comes back after 2-3 minutes and it freezes again. Once again, this all happened right after the latest Windows 10 update. I have diagnosed my laptop for hardware errors, and it's clean. It's basically a brand new laptop, I bought it last year.

The problem doesn't occur when I boot my system in safemode, so there might be some other program or process running, that is blocking Google Chrome. I haven't installed any new programs after the update.

I did some research and tried a couple tricks, but none worked. So far I have:
  • Rebooted in safemode (this fixes the problem)

  • Reinstalled Google Chrome to the newest version

  • Reinstalled all Nvidia drivers to the newest version

  • Updated Windows 10

  • Turned off hardware acceleration in Chrome settings

I really hope you can help me. I don't want to reinstall Windows, because I hate re-installing all drivers and all my programs. Please help me find a solution, I will do anything in return.

Thanks again.
Try to add this command to the shortcut after wherever you have chrome installed obviously %appdata%/ -disable-dwm-composition

Like this?
C:\Users\Bruker\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -disable-dwm-composition

And what is it for? I see my top bar is a little different.

I will test it for a couple hours and see if it still freezes.

EDIT:
Yeah, it still freezes. Didn't help, still the same issue.
It actually happened to me too. Those freezes were so painful. I deleted Google Chrome's settings in AppData and then I reinstalled the browser and it worked like before.
It happened to me too. I wonder the useful solution..
I think it's fixed now. I hope atleast. It hasn't happened for a few days now.
