What coins do you personally suggest to invest in for short-term?
Just want your opinion on this.
I've currently invested into strattis, siacoin, btc and eth.
What other coins should I invest in and how much should I spend in it.
Should I have like 50-75% of my money in eth? I see good potential of it.
I got around 3.5-4k dollar to spend.
What's the most stable coin right now?

How can I do a good research about any coin so that I can have a idea whether I'd be a good or bad investment? I don't know whether I explained the question well. I got my own methods to research but I think they're not good enough.

Why's that?
What is the relation Bitcoin has to other altcoins, why do they fluctuate when Bitcoin does? Is it because all values are connected to BTC?

I don't really give a shit if he faked his earnings; however, I do give a shit if he gives wrong advice. Hopefully these guys here know what they're talkin about.

Because all trading pairs are directly connected to BTC right now.
When you go on exchanges you see BTC/ETH BTC/XMR BTC/EVERYTHING
Altcoins are still a new thing, and eventually at least one altcoin will over-take BTC in utilization in the future (right now that coin looks like ETH because it's great for micro transactions) which is when you will see more ETH/ALTCOIN pairs.
But in the mean time, as long as BTC remains #1 everything will be effected by BTC's price change.
BTC goes up, Altcoins go down. BTC goes down, Altcoins go up.
BTC is the foundation of everything, and it'll slowly get used less and less and will be replaced with something else many years down the road. (Meaning another coin will get used more and more to make your everyday transactions. BTC will likely be used for large transactions.) Right now that something else looks like ETH, but something even better may come along, only time will tell.

A good read about BTC and some different currencies.

I see, thanks for clarifying my question. The article has much information to learn about... So is it safe to say ETH is a good investment for a safe, long-term hold? Whilst other altcoins are merely similar to penny stocks in which could have possible exponential growth which investors look to cash out quickly? (I'm not saying all coins are like this, I understand some can be a good possible long term hold and be as big or bigger than BTC)
I'd say ETH is the most stable coin as of now.

No one can say 100% it is safe, but we can make a good and fair assumption that it will be good for a long-term investment by looking at all the development, research, and innovation being put into ETH.
I wouldn't view low-priced altcoins as penny stocks. Coins come in starting at 0 whereas a stock can IPO at like $20.

I'm not the best with quick, high-turnover trades, so I'll leave any investment advice to the others running this help desk.

I don't think there's a good single stable coin to put your money in at the moment. All of the top 100 coins (by market cap) have been affected by the recent spike and the even more recent drops in value. That includes USDT. Any coins that weren't affected likely don't get enough attention for it to be a good investment.
In my opinion, "most stable" as a metric shouldn't exist in this market.

I think Reddit and IM groups (Discord, Telegram, etc.) are good sources of unreliable information that you can later research to find credible sources. News gets to the more active options very quickly. Be wary of any FUD that may be posted.
