What is the best way to receive a text or notification when a coin reaches a certain point, is there an app, or something along those lines I could possible utilize?

Blockfolio has this, it's an app. You can set a notification when a coin hits a certain price.

I've heard of it. Does it allow me to import my orders from Poloniex or do I have to manually add them?

It doesn't import orders. If you're looking for importing use altpocket. I personally use Blockfolio to watch coin prices/set up notifications and altpocket for my actual portfolio.

If you have an Android phone then I suggest TrexTracker for Bittrex and PoloTracker for Poloniex. Both allow you to use your API keys to even track prices and profits with widgets and alerts, works flawlessly for me.

Blockfolio is largely overhyped in my opinion, it looks really nice and has that 'professional look' but the functionality isn't too accurate or reliable enough at all for an alert system.
