I wonder if they had piped natural gas lines to the residents.
I've seen gas leaks do some cool shit to big factory buildings... would be easy for one to do that to a straight up tower.
curious how they didn't have a fire suppression system on each floor though, like sprinklers to keep it from climbing like that.
I'm not a doctor, will never be a doctor, take what I say with a grain of salt and look it up for yourself.

It's hard to say what this is tbh, a lot of our buildings are quite old and outdated so it could have been electrical, someone leaving the cooker on or something. It seems to have originated strongly from the southwest corner right at the bottom so it could be. Hard to say at the moment. It happened around 1am so if it was an attack it would be perfect timing due to everyone being asleep, but maybe someone put a heater (doubt it, it as hot last night) or some other electrical appliance on and went to sleep forgetting about it. There's gonna be a ton of cameras in that area so that might reveal something.

Actually for ISIS it works differently.
Most terror attacks done by ISIS followers are done without ISIS knowing. They are pretty much individuals doing the attacks, on behalf of ISIS. Unlike Taliban, Boko Haram, Al Qaeda etc.. there isn't much central planning. They just use their influence to convince others to do it for them, then once it's been confirmed as a terrorist attack, that's when they usually claim it.
They carry out the attack alone but pledge allegiance. I can't remember exactly what it was but there was an incident within the last couple months, and ISIS quickly claimed responsibility for it but it turned out to be something natural/accidental and wasn't an intentional incident at all.

No surprise. Shitty fire safety regulations. Apparently no alarm or sprinklers even went off.
Quote:The cause of the fire is unknown, but many residents complained about poor fire safety and other problems with the building. The residents organisation, Grenfell Action Group, had repeatedly warned of major fire safety lapses since 2013, and also noted past fires and fire-related incidents in similar blocks managed by the same company, which they felt were related to poor fire safeguards and management company fire policies. The last such post was written only seven months before the fire. It stated that only a "catastrophic" fire would finally force the block's management to treat fire precautions and maintenance of fire-related systems to a proper standard
Quote:In November 2016, a residents organisation, Grenfell Action Group, published online an article attacking KCTMO as an "evil, unprincipled, mini-mafia" and accusing the Borough Council of ignoring health and safety laws. The Group suggested that "only a catastrophic event will expose the ineptitude and incompetence of [KCTMO]". The group had also published articles criticising fire safety and maintenance practices at Grenfell Tower.
Quote:On eight occasions between 2013 and 2016 the Grenfell Action Group had written about their concerns related to fire safety, electrical safety, and severe ongoing power surges.
Quote: Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has also demanded to know why Grenfell residents were told to 'stay put' in their flats for up to an hour in the event of a fire.
Who put an idiot in charge of this block of flats?
Well, just read it and pretty sure it talks about some plastic being used in $10 million dollar renovations which is probably what led to it burning so quickly. I doubt it was a terror attack. Usually it's pretty obvious.
