The following post will contain spoilers, more than likely the responses to this thread will as well. If you dont want the game spoiled for you, dont read.
I know I am quite late to this party, but I recently purchased the Origin vault pass which lets you play their older games. I got battlefield hardline the other day and spent my off time over a few days completing the campaign. For the most part I liked the game. Some of the mechanics were fun but a bit unrealistic. The AI were clunky and did not respond to shooting and noise as I thought they should, however I was immersed into the story and was enjoying it. Ill spare the middle details as those who have played it already know them, but in the in you go after the main villain, Dawes alone. You finally get to his office,
where there is a brief dialogue before you kill Dawes (No choice in the matter btw). There is then revealed a note on his desk where he says he knew you would kill him, and he has left his fortune and criminal empire to you. The game ends with a "What are you going to do" question which the player is not allowed to answer.
This had me really frustrated with the makers and EA. The story would have had so much more closure if the player could have picked and then had a short cut-scene for the ending they chose. I personally do not think Nick would have chosen to run the Empire given all he had gone through to stop Dawes, however the game made it seem like Nick had no others options,
and likely took the Empire over. It made me feel like all the time I had put into the game was wasted, forced to make a choice to do something I had fought against the entire game. So overall it left a bad taste in my mouth for a game I enjoyed overall. Thanks EA for another disappointing game
