Disk Encryption

I have an SSD that I use for Windows and a 1TB HDD that I use for everything else. What would be the best/latest way of achieving full disk encryption for both drives?
Bitlocker
  • Built-in full disk encryption software offered by Microsoft in Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8 Pro, and most versions of Windows 10

  • Can encrypt entire system disk of the computer, additional hard disks or partitions, and removable storage media.

Check out this guide for more information. Bottom of it.

You should look in to vera crypt, I personally use it for my full disk encryption.

are u geniuenly insane?. BitLocker is microsoft property.. and they just looooove to collect user data.. coff coff emails, coff coff keystores...

so using there encryption tool.. for securing ur data is like going to a robber and telling him to guard ur house

Then why using Windows in the first place?!
Isn't Windows a Microsoft's property?!

I included that guide on purpose; It contains all the basic security measures to use Windows safely.

Please take the time to think before you post, you security enthusiast. 😑

What are you talking about? VeraCrypt's last stable release was Oct 7, 2016. A code audit was finished in the same month. It's tried, true, and tested. Your software I've never heard of, and it wasn't audited as far as I can see.
Moving on in life in such a way that doesn't include HF. HF allowed me to get into the security field and peaked my interest: I appreciate everyone's time, effort, and encouragement. If for some reason you have a means to message me outside HF, feel free to, but I won't be coming back.

Thanks everybody for your replies, I knew of Vera I just remember hearing shit about it being discontinued thus may have backdoors. Im not one for the statistical facts but I guess its still good to go.

Shoe, if I have an SSD and a HDD will it do its thing and encrypt absolutely everything right? I have been using a Linux laptop with one HDD for a few years now and that has encryption built in, I just want to be sure the two storage devices wont cause an issue.

That won't cause any issues. You'll have to encrypt them separately, preferably with different passphrases but there'll be no problems.
