We're now live for the beta of v1 of the HF API.

The key is now part of the authentication header. The API is restful friendly URL's.

The API will only accept GET headers and v1 will not include any write access. We're saving all write access (POST,PATCH,DELETE) for v2.

Currently this is still R3KT only but once this is working we'll open it to Ub3r then L33t/3P1C.

Expect it to be buggy while Meshcollider and I work to fix bugs and fine-tune the API.

All existing API code won't work unless you make the appropriate adjustments to your code for the header authentication.

One big issue currently is getting past the Cloudflare Captcha. Ultimately I may end up having to create a special tunnel for the API to avoid all these continued problems with our security interfering with access. This is a real hassle and it's not going to easily be solved.

Damn, somehow I did not expect this to happen this quick when you said you were working on it yesterday. Awesome release!
I'll be fixing the app I made tomorrow and start working on an IOS version for it as well. I'm very excited about the API so lets see how it'll go.

Great release. I cannot wait for projects to come out, that are made by HF members. I'm excited for the API's future and cannot wait to see how it impacts HF greatly.

Ok, fixed a few bugs to get this working. Always problems related to my server setup.

And I just needed an hour or two with Mesh to hash out the existing problems.

I hope to let this run for a bit, tweak it, and start work on v2 before the end of the summer.

This release is definitely a great improvement from the first beta release.
Members have said in the past that you don't care about the community anymore but it's projects like this one that make them shut up.

Write related functions. We could reply to a PM notification thru API for example.

Whoops, I actually re-read the OP just now and I saw that he mentioned this as well.
POST calls would actually be pretty cool to have in the future as that would enable users to use post and PM using the API.
