[Lookin] [UID=3308493] Fake Contest / Running away with group members' donations

Username: Lookin
UID: 3308493

Awhile ago we decided in the Consensus subforum to host weekly/monthly giveaways which would be supported with the donations of the group members. I and some other members have sent a total of ~$150 (maybe more?). I have personally sent him $15.

Proof of payment & Lookin admitting he received the donation:

UPDATE I've asked around the Consensus members and here a few of the donations that have been made (it's not complete yet):

- 'Fox: $50 (ETH)
- Minimalist: $50
- MoneyManeFlare: $40 (ETH)
- NurSpec: $20
- Fade $20
- DenizZ: $15
- NakedTurtle $6,11 (ETH)
- Danny Khalifa: $2 Total of $203,11

There was a Bitcoin & Ethereum address which we could send money to:

BTC Address:: https://blockchain.info/address/1PMg8Dpb...EkTr5PzMj8
ETH Adress: https://etherscan.io/address/0x7E70d3ad2...6f1eEc07e7

He made a thread asking for donations but sadly it seems to be junked (he was the group leader, probably still had the junk feature in SF). Anyway it's just gone. (look at update)

This was the contest that he branded in Consensus' name: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5652519 (A total of $85 & 3 group spot prizes)

Now that he is no longer a member he ended the contest and did not grant the prizes:

Wouldn't this be considered as a fake contest? It's the money of the members of Consensus and he should refund us so that we can contininue running it.

Yesterday I sent him a PM regarding a refund, which he has read (tracked it) but didn't response to. He took a vacation ban for 1 month afterwards and none of us have gotten a refund from Lookin.

I didn't want to open this as I thought that Lookin was a really good member. I'm not doing this for my $15. It's about the morals and the general way he gone about it.

***UPDATE**

We have got the thread back that was junked in which he asked us for donations: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5650423 (only staff/consensus members can open the link since it is in the consenses SF)

This is how it looks like: Spoiler (Click to View)
Something that doesn't just add up is that he had all that money... what happened to it... why is he asking for charity funds...
Ironically took a Self Ban today..

It was supposed to be used for Consensus' weekly giveaways so he created a thread requesting donations. Some of us send a little bit (between $5 and $25 and maybe more) to the BTC/ETH addresses he provided. Basically the money is on his wallet. We didn't know this would happen of course.
OP, were the winners already announced?
Btw pming you for a partial refund, fuck scammers and getting scammed

He probably tried making the most money he could make and run away.

This is just a supposition, don't kill me for it.

probably not, judging as he closed the giveaway as soon as he was out of consensus.
Fake contests are punishable by account closures, as per what I recall.

Well to be fair doesn't his contest end the 31st?
This user clearly knew you'd be making a thread today as he posted that thread regarding discounting the crypto news at like 01:00 (AM) and so he took this opportunity to ban himself and not have to face the publicity. I'm sorry for what has occurred and maybe someone can contact him through discord or skype so he can refund the lot of you.

You might indeed be right. At least, that would be the right thing.

He said '' I am no longer apart of Consensus, therefore, this competition is hereby over. Thank you for your participation.''

Basically the contest has ended.

Basically the contest has ended.

I spent hours on that site trying to win 😑
The new leader should contact him to get the funds and do the contest as planned. If he would not respond to him, it would be reasonable to open a CA.

When Kill Joy has everything in order (he just took the leadership over) we'll try to fix this of course.
