Cryptix : Messenger/IM system

Cryptix Messenger, Works by using unique encryptions to securly encrypt your text. This encrypted text is then sent over the internet network to server. The server takes the encrypted text you typed and adds another layer of encryption to it. The server then takes this double layer encrypted text and sends it back to the chat clients. The chat clients then decrypt the double layer encryption and output it as plain readable text. Why is this helpful ? Well for one no one on your current virtual network or LAN will be able to track your messages from this chat. Network packet analyzer software like wireshark and other network packet logging software wont understand the chats. This means all data in this chat is secure the only people that could see or understand the texts from this chat is another device/system thats logged into the chat with another client and connected to the same chat server.

From the image you can even see the server does no decryption infact just adds more encryption so even the server end wont contain any of the chatrooms info. Hell not even your ISP would know what you are typing in these chats unless they of course are in the chat with the chat client aswell.

All decryption is done client side no raw readable text is sent to or from the servers or over the network.

Also included a built in private messaging system, So you can see the other users that are in the same chat server and also select to private message them without others noticing. NO direct connections are ever made between any of the clients in the chatrooms the server handels everything. This will also help to keep clients within the chatroom server from tracing eachother. The server handles all the networking data and never perm logs the data and or decrypts the data.

And the server also allows for some chat administration as you are able to ban users in the chat and or mute users in the chatroom. So if you are the administrator of the chat channel server then you can ban or mute clients within the chat server.

Making this one of the most secure messaging software out there, As the server keeps no IP or text logs or cant even read or understand the text between the clients themselves and allowing no direct connection between clients, Its server also cant be connected to by outside software as it will require a set of encryptions to connect and will block failed connections on a timeout.

So if you are looking for a chat/messagener software program that is 100% safe and allows no other users within the chat to trace or log the chats within the chatroom this program is ideal.

Of course its safe thats the entire purpose of creating this project.

To create a server/client chat system that allows users to chat remotely in such a way that anyone else in the network or even outside the network wont be able to decipher the chat text.

But if you mean safe as in the chat client or or chat server executables themselves then I give full permission to debug the program attempt reverse engineering on it or log and trace its network packet activity.

The project was simply created as a means to allow people online inside or outside your own network to chat safely without having to worry about IP tracing or reading the chat text themselves.

But I assure you I do not backdoor or inject any of my releases as I have no means, needs or reason to want to hack into other peoples systems. I just like to create software and help the hacking community.

But thanks for checking it out and commenting feel free to ask questions.
I might actually attempt this. Looking good man.
Thanks a lot for this release! I was always interested in the whole secured and encrypted chat networks. And this seems pretty simple to setup so I'll give this a shot!
np mates and thanks for checking it out if you need any help or have questions feel free to ask.

Also would probably be wise to use a DNS or domain name pointing to the external IP of which ever system is hosting the server, So clients dont have to enter server IP but just the domain name or DNS. You could also tunnel the chat server through a VPN/VPS that supports port forwarding, So the external IP clients enter to connect to the chat server is not of your own. But those are optional and not required just makes it even more secure if you do so as even the external IP of the chat server would then not be of your own or easily seen.
Pretty slick bro, well done. I wont use it myself though, since I'm lonely without anyone else on my LAN like, but yeah.
I thought about making something like this once, looks good.

Most important question is how you handle the encryption.

I may open source it at a later time after I add more features and stability.

And the encryption is all handled client side of the chat, Chat clients add encryption to text data sends it to the server the server encrypts the text data again and sends to clients. Then clients decrypt the double layer encryption and output the text. No direct connection or raw data is sent to or from the clients on the server the server just handles the tranfer of encrypted text.

This way the text and contents of the messages are kept private to the server and the networking packets in case anyone is capturing or snooping in on your networking data. And there is no way for other client users to detect who the other clients are within the chat or trace them unless they of course are the ones hosting the server itself.

Thats what port forwarding is for and a dns or name server with a Arecord. Just forward the port the chat server runs on then clients can connect to the server and chat by entering your external IP or domain name/dns. They dont have to be in the same LAN or local network as you for this to work.
Just posting here to let anyone interested know that I will be updating this to a new version and adding more encryption to the networking packets and fixing up the chat administration system.

Also would like to note this application works fine both server and client under Linux using wine, So you can easily host the server on a unix/linux shell using wine to allow 24/7 client access.
