Crypting an exe file for free? (Kali/Linux or Windows)

I am looking for a way to crypt a .exe file for free as I don't have any money to spend on one. I am not doing anything illegal imho as I am RATing a Tech Support scammer and refunding victims etc.

technically that's still malicious usage but anyways there are threads that provide free crypting just use search button or wait someone to respond here

Technically, what you'd be doing is still illegal as you don't have access to the PC (And you shouldn't, at that matter) even if they are scamming. You're not Law Enforcement.
