Good Forensic Recovery/SD Card Recovery Software

Hey guys,

Recently one of my friends SD card got erased, and I was wondering if there is any good forensic recovery or just SD card recovery software you recommend?

I know that there are some very good ones on the market, and due to the fact that I personally haven't used one in a few years I want to get some input.

Thank you :)
Back in the days I downloaded just about every program I could find to recover data on an SD card.
All failed.
The thing was still readable ( I could easily place new files if I wanted to, but this would maybe overwrite or corrupt the files I was trying to recover.).
And nothing was overwritten yet.
But still, nothing worked. Couldn't find anything.
For HDD I had some great successes though, and I can pretty much always recover everything. Even if it been overwritten several times.
But SD cards is a completely different story. And in general for most people are a huge pain.

There are companies that can recover it for you, but they charge truckloads of $$$. In general to much for what the data is worth.
Human stupidity : Buying something they have no clue about, and then ask if they wasted their money.

Honestly a data recovery specialist is the only way to really have any hopes of getting the data back. Had to do this for a clients wedding once. Almost shit my pants when one of my cards came up unreadable. Ever since then I write the data two both of the cards in my camera.
Yeah it's my friends friend gopro memory card...honestly I might just try one of the recommended ones from google, and let you guys know how it goes unless someone throws a specific suggestion :) - keeping this updated.
