Os it possible to hack a social media platform & completely delete it & any backups

Say for instance Instagram, is it, or how would someone or a bot hack the servers and completly erase all content so that it can't go live again and everything is just gone for good? Imagine every user recieving an email with all of their photos and every comment and like associated with it, kinda like the same html as instagram but just for memory purposes, like a unique pdf. But the instagram app is gone and wiped, never to be used again. This can be done for Facebook too?

Reason for asking is that this is for creative purposes and I need to know the right way to do this or else it will sound dumb. Also hopefully it inspires someone else to do something about the social media issue eventually...

So you would have a few options here
  1. Hack the servers

  2. create a bot to log into a persons account and delete everything

The first is just not going to happen so for get about that. The second is doable bots can be created to do almost any task so no reason why this couldn't be created.

Do note that these online services have many many MANY back ups so even deleting the file will leave the backed up vesion left around for a rather long time.

If it's a large social media program, then Absolutely.... not. They will have offsite backups disconnected from the internet (meaning you can not access them no matter what). Good luck actually breaking into the social media though!

Well I wont actually be doing this, its a narrative but if it did happen I think it would benefit society nonetheless. How much information do these offsite backups even have? Would it be everyone's profile and their content or only specific users?
Is there legit no way to delete a backup server without working from the inside? If you did have to work from the inside what would the operation consist of?
