Looking for someone on here who can relate. It's always said to step out of your comfort zone. I have done so, a handful of times. My anxiousness and fear gets triggered when it comes to things I've never done before, or has been a while since I've actually done it. It never ends really. You would think going through something once, would end your overthinking state of mind. Aside from that. I like to stay in my comfort zone because it's not exhausting. I try my absolute best to be courageous through a new life experience, but through the pain of getting heavy anxiety, it becomes tiring. It's frustrating. It helps when friends are around with you. Traveling as an example! For the first time 2 years ago, I went on a plane to go on a trip with my closest buddies for a few days. My brain was so fried, because of the tension built up before the take off. Once the plane was up, I was fine. I know I will be fine in the end, but the problem is defeating that mental obstacle before it. I ask myself why I get so fearful when realistically, it will be okay. Next summer, my girlfriend wants to go on a trip for the first time far from home. So I know for a fact it will be a little nerve wracking when the time comes around and I have to go through the plane experience again. Brain says: I know you've done this, but I will give you a heavy anxious gut wrecking feeling anyways. I might look into buying a supplement that will help with this mental fog (not xanax).
