Any good alternatives to a mouse pad while I wait for a new one to arrive?

Not really. Taping a piece of paper to your desk would work.

Using a Bluetooth trackpad is amazing. Doesn't work well if you are wanting to game but I recommend it over a standard mouse. https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Magic-Track...B016QO5YWC

I used a clipboard forever and it was fantastic. Use a really flat thing with good traction like cardboard or wood or something. Nothing clear unless it's a mechanical mouse (with the ball).
