Anyone Have Some Freelancing Tips? (Expanding in HF and Other Markets Upwork etc)

So I am really eager to make money online and I have some programming knowledge and design knowledge as well. I come from a family of Engineers and Carpenters so I have some sense of design and how things work. I was wondering how should I take an approach of freelancing? Should I do some photoshop logo's and maybe edit some pictures then code a website from scratch? I don't really have any other projects I have done in the past and I was planning to offer services in the HF marketplace as well. I am in IT in college which can relate to some of the programming but I am mostly self taught besides a couple basic classes I took in high school. Anyone who has done multiple projects have any advice? I know I could post this in the monetizing section but I feel like it's more of a relaxed topic for the lounge where a lot of people have questions
Hi, i also started with almost nothing. I am a photo editor, but my first job was about some payment method avaible only in my country. I got 5 Starts and on the next day i was able to get a simple research job. After this it was easier for me to get a job in my category, the begining is hard. You just need to apply for some very low payment jobs and climb up. It will take few months, maybe faster if you have some good skills. If you don't know what are you gonna do then just start with fiverr, Upwork is for people with at least small experience.
Sign up to upwork (or something similar)..
Start cheap and build up a portfolio..
As mentioned earlier, build up your portfolio so customers know what to expect and why they should use your service. Furthermore, make sure you focus a lot on marketing your freelancing services as there are many competitors. You could also try to make small projects for yourself then sell the whole project to someone else.
I've been in the freelancing industry for almost 5 years now. I mainly use Upwork to get clients. I am well experienced in delivering customer service for both phone and emails. The best thing that you need to do is to learn new things on a daily basis. See what are the in demand jobs online and use google or youtube to master those skills. I have a reputable Upwork profile and it helped me a lot and my Family. Bottom line is, learn new things to earn more.
Make sure to add your own style to what you do to make things memorable.

First of all, you need a good portofolio.
So, make it good.
