Recover Thread Drafts?

I just spent about 2 hours putting together a comprehensive guide, and my google chrome crashed. Sometimes when restarting google, I know that the page could be cached, but this time it just opened up asked me to reload the page and then bam I get faced with an empty thread. Is there any possibility that this could be cached somewhere or is it just gone forever. My thoughts are that it is gone forever, but I figured I might as well ask.
I'm pretty sure they are gone as they weren't saved anywhere.

It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.

Peace out!

Yeah I was pretty certain of that too. Welp I guess if you can write it once why not twice.
Certain forum software keep drafts of your post automatically in case of issues, unfortunately MyBB doesn’t unless you save your own draft. (They totally should implement).

For the future, when I’ve written my guides on the forum, once you finish a paragraph just be safe and save the draft so you don’t lose your content. Better safe than sorry. :)

Unless you have a cached page somewhere locally, unsaved drafts are not stored in the forum software. Writing offline for long threads is highly advisable and then only uploading to a thread once you are done.
You can always use notepad++ or something when creating drafts. However a plugin to automatically save a draft at X number of posts in the background via JavaScript might be a good idea. If Omni doesn’t want a plugin for that a userscript could be made to do the same.

Its unfortunate but I have previously done the same thing, wrote a lengthy, detailed post only to hit a button or something and have it disappear forever.

Now I constantly save my posts in a draft at least that way I know it's saved.

Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.

Yeah after all that work and just seeing it disappear in front of my eyes, ill probably be doing the same thing.
If you are going to spend that much time writing something, write it in Word or Notepad.
Unless if you have some sort of form recovery software like lazarus installed, then its gone for good.
