Post Editing Changed
Omni has added an editing limit to all posts in the forum.
Several people have found this a trouble especially to those who constantly change their posts whether it's in the marketplace or in the lounge.

The Solution
Now, I have found a solution for everyone! IMAGES! Literally, images.
If you want to have unlimited edits on your posts, you need to transform your post into an image.

Transforming Posts Into Images

Requirements:
Photo-Editing App (Photoshop)
A blank post image or an image with the color "#333333".
Screenshot App (Lightshot Screenshot)
Photo Upload Site (imgur)
Google Account

You can copy or download the image above or create your own by following the color hex code.

Creating Post on Image (The Hard Way)

After downloading/copying the image above or creating your own image, you have to type text on it
using a photo-editing app. Just follow the font and font size you want then place it where you want it to be.

Creating Post on Image (The Easy Way)

Go anywhere in the forum and start a new thread, don't post it yet! Type what you want on your thread and after finishing
it, take your screenshot tool. Preview your post and capture it using your screenshot tool. Now go to your photo-editing app
and paste it there, or a fast way to do it is to go to your photo upload site that takes "copy-paste" images. Paste your screenshot
there and after doing so, save and download the image.

- Make sure to copy your thread (the codes) and save it somewhere safe. You can use notepad. -

Uploading the Image

Now, go to google.com]Google Drive and sign in with your Google account. Upload your image there.
Now make sure to share it with the public by changing the "link-sharing" settings to anyone with the link. Just right-click the uploaded image.

Linking the Image

Now, this is where the trick comes in. After setting the link sharing settings, copy the link. It should look like this "https://drive[WARNING POSSIBLY INFECTED]google.com/open?id=jiohfije98u3rjf-hackforumstest"
Copy the text after the "id=". Use this link "https://drive[WARNING POSSIBLY INFECTED]google.com/uc?id=" and paste the id there. After doing so, copy the link and use it in your thread.
It should look like this "https://drive[WARNING POSSIBLY INFECTED]google.com/uc?id=jiohfije98u3rjf-hackforumstest".

Updating the Image

If you want changes to be made on your thread, just follow the steps in "Creating Post on Image" and save/download the image.
Now, go to Google Drive, right-click on the old uploaded image and click "Manage Versions". Click "Upload New Version" and choose your updated image.
It should get updated without changing the link. Verify it by hovering over your thread.

Thread GFX

If you already have a thread gfx, just skip the previous steps and continue by posting it on Google Drive but make sure to follow the same steps.

I HOPE I HAVE CONTRIBUTED AND HELPED YOU, THANK YOU!
IF EVER OMNI DOESN'T LIKE THIS, I HOPE THIS WILL HELP TO MAKE THE EDIT LIMIT MORE SECURE. IF HE WANTS THIS CLOSED OR JUNKED
THAT WOULD BE FINE FOR ME.

>User finds a way around it and posts a tut on it.

I can't imagine Omni would be pleased with this.
I believe the last time someone found a workaround for some features Omni added to block stuff he was a bit upset.

Omni suggested users/sellers to embed images that they control on their threads so they can change things on it without affecting the post edit limit.

But if Omni doesn't like this, I wouldn't hesitate to close this thread.

This is all about not having HUGE error logs being spammed which takes up loads of server space.
It honestly has nothing to do with people being able to actually make edits and change their prices!
The Edit History was implemented to prevent abuse (deleting thread content since Ub3r junk is unavailable to name one) which hurts SEO. Using this method, a user can nix the image thus the content will be void, and of course, it will not add value to the SEO as it will be a large image not an actual typed content.

I guess this method works best on sellers specifically currency exchangers where they constantly change their amounts..

Sellers kill their own SEO by using thread images instead of actual text. What if a non-member uses Google looking for a service offered here but they can't find it because Google doesn't have your thread text saved because it's an image?

I was under the impression that Edit History reduces thread content deletion/modification abuse, especially members who removes the thread content as they do not have the Ub3r Junk feature. This method easily bypass this safe-guard hence I am not seeing the how edit history is being fruitful here since if users control their image, there won't be any Edit History to log.

I am unaware if members rely on Google for their sales traffic or organic Hack Forums traffic. I am actually curious about the technical limitation of this feature and the work around this method provides.

Of course, this eases the members who regularly need to update their threads. I was actually curious about the potential abuse it can impose to the Edit History feature which was introduced to prevent such abuse in the first place. 🙂

yes, I could see an abuse for this method but I hope the admins can see this method as another step to make the limitation even more secure..
