Each week, a member of works will share one of their projects and explain the thinking behind its design. We hope that this will teach you about the importance of thinking in the design process. We'd also, of course, appreciate any feedback you may have on the work itself (this is RMG, after all, and nobody's perfect)!

It's been a while since I've made a gallery for HF so I wanted to make one badly. After some hard thinking, I've decided to make a poker-themed gallery.
Originally, I planned on making only avatars, but after seein' all the potential, I simply had to make cards as well, hoping to find someone who can use them for something.

As always, gettin' that first avatar done was by far the hardest. When starting, it's important to pick a color scheme and stick to it all the way through the end, and when you're working on +10 avatars, that can be tricky. Besides that shape of the avatar(s). Height and weight, something that has to be consistent as well. Overall, that first stage took me almost a day, but thanks to planning, the rest of the gallery was quite easy to make, and it only took me another day to finish.

After first sixteen avatars, I felt like doing more so I've decided to make Jokers, originally only three of them(one for each admin), but considering how fun they were to work on, I've made more, and I plan on making even more - turn this into a weekly thing. Anywho, I started by making avatars, but soon enough, I realized that staff of the Hack Forums might not want randoms to use "their" avatars, so rather than posting avatars, I went with the cards.

Overall, I've spent a whole week working on this it was fun and if anything, I feel like this will be a great addition to my portfolio.
Ideally, I'll find someone who can use the cards and create a game or something else, but for now, they are nothing more than some random poker cards in my portfolio. :)
