They're not worth much unless they're REALLY old (Read: pre 2004ish) and have items from back then. You can buy 5/10 year vet accounts with low stats for like $5-10 ea on PlayerAuctions, and there's a lot of for sale offers for them.

As justg mentioned above, they are not worth a lot. People who sell them for a lot are just the big sellers, I've sold 15 year vets at $15 each in bulk. I don't even track the rest.
