General Information

Legends is an official group meant for highly skilled individuals in various fields such as marketing, coding, programming, hacking and so on. The possibilities of having skills in different feels are endless, but you are expected to prove your worth for being in Legends. We expect to contribute in a positive manner towards the community as well as prove our legendary skills in front of others. Maintaining the groups legendary image is a vital role of every member within Legends. We expect all members to be high quality and willing to contribute towards the community alongside the rest of the group. Members are required to be honest marketers and remain as high quality as possible.

By being a part of Legends, we expect our members to be active and willing to contribute. We expect our members to maintain their language. As we all know, the group's image is depicted by its members, so the members are expected to remain as high quality as possible. Marketers are expected to be honest, coders should be self-reliant and hackers should maintain their stance on their instincts and morals. Everyone is required to be honest to their customers, as we all know that customers and clients should be placed at a higher priority than potential profit. We encourage all kinds of positive contribution towards the forums. 


We strive to be an inspiring group for the rest of the members on HackForums by contributing in all possible ways. Members are requested to bring forward some kind of contribution for the forums, as well as forming an image for the group itself by their actions. As the members of Legends, we should strive for keeping a high quality image of the group in all possible circumstances.

Special Edition Recruitment

We are very selective of the members we recruit. For a very long time, Legends was an invite-only group and we intend to keep it this way. Therefore, this is a "Special Edition" recruitment thread and a maximum of 5 people will be invited. We are looking for skilled individuals who can keep up with the fame of the group that it has established in the past 2 years.

This recruitment is based on a set of unknown challenges that the members will have to complete in order to gain entry. This is a relatively easier and more friendly version of the contest as compared to the past ones that we have hosted. The first challenge begins below. There is a message hidden in the cipher below. Find it and it will lead you on a road to the rest of the puzzles. We look forward to meeting the few that will make it all the way through.

Rules of the contest

1. You are not allowed to share answers or clues.
   
2. You can talk about the contest in general, but strictly no talking about the hints, solutions, clues or spoilers about the contest in the thread.
   
3. Only the first 5 people to PM me with the end result will be allowed in.
   
4. If you break any rule, you will be blacklisted permanently from LEGENDS.
   
5. If you run into problems, PM me. Don't post it on the thread.
   
6. Every 48 hours, a hint or clue regarding the contest will be posted by me in case nobody is able to crack it.
   
7. This is a 2-week contest in total.
   

Clue for Stage 1 : June 2nd, 2018

The first stage is quite easy if you know the basics of encryption. The hidden message was HEX encrypted and after a successful decryption, you will get the following message. You could use any HEX to String Decryption tools available online for this stage. A pretty good example would be : http://www.convertstring.com/EncodeDecode/HexDecode . This stage was aimed to test your basic knowledge of Cryptography. Now Go on, and try solving Stage 2. The next hint for Stage 2 will be dropped in 48 hours.

Step 5
I see most of you are using PDFCrack, nice! It's a great and free tool. Here's the clue:
-w ~/pathToYourFolder/wordlist.txt -n 6 -m 6


Step 6
I'm guessing most of you have figured out the clue, but still can't break the encryption. You're wanting to do this too fast! If you can only decipher the first word, try decoding it again but with a random character in front of the ciphertext. Then again, with two random characters in front of the ciphertext. Watch closely! Bonus points (well, just my respect actually) if you can figure out what is happening here and why it is happening.
