hey guys, ive been in the game for a while but haven't touched much on pentesting. I now want to learn how to pentest, where would i start? I have already gotten as far as getting a few vulnerability scanners on kali but don't know how to interpret them let alone how to exploit them. This is only to feed my curiosity by the way, want to learn as much as I can. Money is no issue, any sort of advice would be greatly appreciated.

How is your networking and knowledge of OS's, yes server products as well not just end user OS's. Which is where most security issues reside. If you are looking for courses to take check out :
(You can always get a book maybe do a few courses on cybrary to prep before doing the EJPT.) https://www.elearnsecurity.com/certification/ejpt/ Then follow up with https://www.elearnsecurity.com/certification/ecppt/

Hi, read some few books such as Hacking Exposed(probably can find a book recommendation using Google)
Assuming you meet the pre reqs of basic networking knowledge, You can practice pentesting with vulnhub boxes. Once you are fairly good, I recommend htb boxes. If money is no issue, after learning basic networking skills, go straight into OSCP cert course. This is the best option but cost the most money. No knowledge of pentesting is needed to take the course. If you have any questions can pm me |
