running BASH script [HELP]

so i got a .sh file in my /home/chip/scripts folder that i'm able to execute from an alias i named dump

i'm currently using a device thats called pocked chip, i'm trying to get an icon on the home screen that i could just press and it would execute the .sh file in a terminal. have been trying a couple of different things.

xterm -fullscreen -e dump

xterm -fullscreen -e /home/chip/scripts/file.sh

etc

the only thing that happens is that it launch the xterm but not the file.sh

can't remember the terminal it's using by default but i have to go to the terminal, execute xterm and then try launching the icon. would it be an easier method to do this as well ? guessing adding it to startup. but the main problem is to get the xterm to execute the script 🎉

does the script require root or permissions?
You can first try

chmod +x scriptnamehere.sh

Let me know if this helps
fixed it, need to close the terminal so it freshly opens it with the script for some reason
