lol cats do like computers and keyboards, I had a "computer cat" who would sleep on keyboards and randomly press the spacebar when I'd be typing.

It would not bother me to adopt a kitten even 10/12 years
I love cats no matter how old they are ...

Kittens/cats are not like dogs, this said generally they don't like need the attachment also building trust is important. Puppies tend to be more clingy and affectionate. Now I have seen a few cats that were like dogs in the way that they show and give affection and play I had a cat which would go and fetch a ball.
