Is there any reason you wanted to keep .NET FW 4.0 dependency ? Its a bit high
Assert failure(PID 10704 [0x000029d0], Thread: 10960 [0x2ad0]): pBuffer != NULL
I feel .NET 4.0 is pretty much standard by now, at least for the home user base.

You can pretty much follow the .NET Standard 1.0 and be able to cover most machines that use the internet as Windows Update installs newer frameworks, I believe there is an update that pushes all the way up to 4.7.1; also Windows 10 April 2018 update comes with 4.7.2 installed.

This is the update that gets pushed to Windows 7-10 to install 4.7.1

False, executions from exploit kits show that you get great 30-50% decreased executions

It's a common misconception, but 2.0 is a much bigger dependency than 4.0. Not every version is backward compatible.
