Not necessarily, as the user above said GPU's are good for cracking hashes. If you're that dedicated to cracking passwords that you bought a computer just for it then you will encounter hashes at some point.

Not too sure on how much dedication is there for hashes, that is what I thought originally also but who knows OP may just charge people money to crack passwords, that is a thing.
