Ninox Astrum: Lightweight Modular Gaming Mouse

Hey everyone! Been a while since I really posted anything. I thought I would let you all in on something that's been in the making for nearly a year. As someone who's into collecting gaming peripherals (mice especially, but also mousepads, keyboards, controllers, etc.), I'm really excited about it. 😁

Basically, "bst", or Russell Vint, had the idea and the means to make the lightest, fully modular gaming mouse in the world. Part of what makes it so good is the attention to detail, and the Overclock (overclock.net) community's Mice subforum's comments and suggestions since July, 2017. It's coming from a guy who's passionate about what he does, not a company like Razer or Logitech, for example, who must appeal to a mass market for maximum profits, even if they know what gamers and enthusiasts really want.

Note: I don't own any part of the company, nor do I profit anything by making this thread, or by any money raised for the cause. I just want really want this thing to happen, and the sooner it's funded, the sooner it'll arrive at your doorstep.  😁 I think I read the rules right, but Staff, please let me know otherwise and I'll fix it immediately.

A bit pricey for a mouse. Hopefully they add even more customization options like additional buttons on the sides. Cool find nonetheless.
I'm gonna keep it real with you man, that thing looks cheap as hell.

In this video above where he's showing the removal of the panels, it's almost as if I can feel how cheap the pieces are. Also, not very ergonomic shape. I don't see a grip/rubber padding anywhere on it. The shape of the mouse reminds me of something from a compaq computer.

It looks cool and has a nice design, very customizable which is nice. A bit pricey though.

The unit in the video you're referring to is a prototype made by a 3D printer. One of the best/most accurate ones available, but a 3D printer nonetheless.

But yeah, the real thing gets mass-produced by machines that produce mice shells year-round. They'll be available in UV-coated matte white and matte black, but exclusive colors and materials are available for backers of the project.

Yeah, for an FPS gaming mouse (few buttons, high-end sensor, low weight, etc.), it's up there in price. I think it's the best value for a gaming mouse I've seen yet, though. It has several features that most other mice only have one or two of, all at once. Optical switches mean the maximum lifetime for the left and right buttons and the scroll wheel, while also having the fastest response time. The best sensor available, with the most responsive firmware there is afaik, very low weight for less fatigue over time, adjustable sensor position to suit how you aim - the list goes on. If it were $150, I'd still buy it.
