Ok so I installed Kali Dual Boot VIA Windows 10, several partitions later, it's installed. I boot up Kali and surprise surprise Kali is broken garbage and needs 4 million firmwares therefore it won't boot up. So I'm like alright screw you then, and I open diskmgmt and I am rewarded with this https://imgur.com/a/iq1baQP
I don't have time for this and I am literally on the brink of swallowing 40g of adderall and killing myself.
Boot into any linux distribution live CD or installation media with a try mode and install, then open GPARTED. You will have full root privlidges to delete the partitions. I'm assuming that's what you're trying to do but the Windows partition manager isn't giving you the option.

Odd, I didn't know your inability to follow a simple installer meant a widely used distro was broken garbage.... weird.

Lol no I booted into Gparted and a potato amount of errors ensued. It's not an issue. Every other Linux distro works great. Until Kali lol.
Doesn't seem very bricked if you can still boot into Windows without any issues.

Don't use your Kali installation media to access GPARTED, if you did maybe this is the issue as the medium is probably scratched or the source is corrupt (check the MD5 to confirm this). As the person before me said; if you can boot into Windows your HDD is fine. Your partitions have permissions and Windows cannot alter them without being in live mode. In a live mode linux installation you have full root access, so it's usually easier just to use Linux and gparted or fdisk for this than using the windows partition manager in my experience.
What error did gparted spit, if you can recall any and was this on the Kali install (currently installed) or the kali installation medium? (DVD/USB/NetworkBoot) There used to be a gparted live ISO hanging about but I just use my lubuntu/mint/debian USB drives.

I'll try live. So tired of dealing with this to be honest.

Not just that, but I don’t even grasp any single bit of what is actually wrong with this partitioning, or what the thread is about besides “Kali doesn’t boot”
The image is in poor quality and from what I can see, the partitioning seems like it is correct. It has the windows partition which it reads as NTFS. As Windows can’t read EXT3/4 partitions they should be presented like they are. I can’t gather more info from the image.
This thread is bullshit :-/

I thought that Windows 8 and W10 was able to detect the foreign partitions now.
@OP You said you're trying live now, if you were using GPARTED on Kali from the hdd before then it wouldn't have worked because the partition was in use. You need to do this during live mode where you have full root privileges and the live system is running from RAM rather than the partitions on the HDD. If this is what you did, you tried to remove the partition while you were still using it basically and it wouldn't have worked.

Welp I can't even boot into a live version of Kali OR Gparted. My cheap piece of shit computer does it flawlessly, but this one is just not having it. It's whatever, I disabled grub, and I am missing 200gb of my HDD. Can't delete it because it's foreign. So I'm buying an SSD, I don't have time for this. Lol.
There is a really cool HD formatting tool. I've used it in the past when buying old server drives. I'll see if I can track it down.

It needs to have root privileges. But please do.

Why won't your computer boot from installation media when it did before? It doesn't make sense to me but it's probably your source, the image you wrote to the USB that's causing your problems or that you're not formatting it correctly. Are you using unetbootin? This might explain it as it's compatibility is very limited. If you have access to a Windows computer the easiest way is to download rufus (preferred over LiLi) and use that to write the ISO to the USB or if you can get into the installed kali on the hdd use dd to write the gparted live ISO to the USB. Then try booting from the USB.

I did everything mentioned here. Same errors. Something to do with WlFI Firmware. People who also have this issue never fix it according to others so honestly I give up.

If I recall, I had to remove windows before I could install Kali, good luck.
Try again https://docs.kali.org/installation/dual-...th-windows .
