The accident happened right in front of me on the highway. The car flew up into the air and landed upside down. I pulled over and had to rip her car door open and gently take her out of her seatbelt so she didn't fall. She was okay just blood all over her hand and in shock. Pretty crazy seeing that; I felt so bad for her.

See, if she had any kind of spinal injury, you could have made it way worse, even with the car flipped on it's roof, Firefighters and Medical personnel should be the only people extricating the victim out of the vehicle. UNLESS there is an imminent danger to life. Due to shock, after leaving the car she might have been perfectly fine, but since that is adrenaline doing it's work, she may have been down and out 5 minutes after that.

Good on you for helping out though, not many people would even stop and think on what to do.

Anyways, people driving by and recording are showing the bystander effect. You guys complaining about it, but you'd be driving right by just like everyone else. Usually off duty civilians in the medical field are the first ones to actually act.

It’s nice you helped, but you can actually get sued for some serious $$ if you injure someone doing this.
If you ever have to, you get behind them in the car seat and support their next until emergency response gets there.

Another interesting fact is that if someone needs an epipen injection, you have to “assist” them.
You can’t just do it on your own unless they are unconscience. In other words, put it in their hand and shove that shit into the side of their leg.

I had to get a few certifications years ago and sadly there are so many laws protecting victims in situations like this.
