Unencrypted School Systems

Well, this was a few years back, but still a valuable story who thinks with the logic of "no one is interested in this, why should I secure it?".

So, while I was in college, my class was always asked me to "uh, can u hxk the WiFi?"
So, one day, while there was a break, and I helped the teacher carrying some stuff, I simply pictured down the back of the router. Not exactly the ordinary terms of hacking, but hey..It worked.

Soon, the whole class had access to the network, and we literally made an oath to not to reveal this "secret".

Anyway, one morning, I arrived on the usual 06:40 time to the building, because I lived far away, and long range buses helped me get there.
As I was sitting in the class, I had the idea to make a scan on the WiFi, so I can see who is connected.

Scanning...Bum!
12 WiFi based cameras, several printers, and the servers responsible for running the school's website.

That's when the evil side kicked in.
You know the thrilling urge to do something you might regret later. But you don't care because it feels awesome at the moment.
At this time, I had little to no skills in programming (not like I have much today), but was well aware how systems are working, and stuff.

So, I tried to log in on-by-one.
I looked up the brand, checked the default passwords,-because the first thing that comes in my mind is to check for defaults-, and it worked..
On every single device.

Always check for defaults first.

Since then, I sometimes visit the place just to play with the cameras, and bring up this sweet and funny memory.

EDIT: Please point out any typos I made. My English is very broken (u no speak English?!), and I constantly try to improve myself.
I know that feel bruh, same thing happened to me once, but with a printer.
So I printed out like 150 jiggly wigglies, was pretty fucking funny until my teacher caught me :D
Well at least you were not caught, but there are plenty of examples of people being caught and charged. Generally school/college is for learning and it'd be pretty bad if someone went ahead and did something, then was caught and expelled or had charges brought up.. that's a good way to wreck their opportunities for work and if in college they'd have to go and find a new college more than likely.
